The Preservation project, a collaboration between myself and my design partner at QUCE Design for NYFW, delved into a vision of the near future. Our exploration focused on themes surrounding identity, clean air, water, and earth, with a particular emphasis on the first two. In a landscape dominated by facial recognition and extensive data collection, we posed the question: How can one incorporate a concealing element for identity in a way that is both beautiful and elegant? Our answer was the development of a versatile face covering that could be worn up or down as desired.

The second piece we focused on, while more fictional in its application, addressed the crucial need for clean air. Envisioning a scenario where individuals carry a personal means of air purification for safe breathing, we crafted a sleek back piece that seemingly expelled a continuous stream of pristine white air. It was as if we had created a personal cloud, ensuring a constant supply of clean air. Both pieces were constructed from tiled acrylic triangles jump-ringed together, resulting in modular, easy-to-repair, and quickly assembled garments.
